When is Palliative Care Appropriate?

Palliative care is not the same as hospice care. Hospice is a specialized medical team that provides care only to those with terminal conditions, whereas palliative care is not restricted to those at the end of life. It can be provided at any time during the course of a serious illness, starting from the day of diagnosis.

Palliative Care Services Include:

  • Personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
  • 24-hour, on-call support from our Palliative Care team
  • Advance Care Planning
  • Consultations with our Palliative Care team to address your questions and concerns, and to help you make informed decisions about this challenging time in life.

Our Palliative Care team of professionals and volunteers combines care managers, caregivers, a rabbi and interfaith chaplain, and a consulting physician. We work closely with your physician and other healthcare providers and can coordinate Palliative Care services if and when chosen by you.
