Volunteer Visitors

UPDATE: Currently all visits are done via phone calls due to COVID-19.

Human connection is just good medicine! Our friendly volunteers are here to provide Seniors At Home clients extra care, company and support to create better health outcomes and enhance well being.

Palliative Care Volunteers

Specially trained volunteers are matched with those who have a serious or chronic illness. They offer presence, companionship, or respite for a family member or loved one, adding extra support during one of life’s most difficult times.

Senior Companions

Compassionate adults are carefully matched with a senior in need of some extra support, based on location and common interests. Regular visits often lead to a lasting and meaningful friendship.

“I look forward to the weekly visit with my volunteer—she is the best!”

Sam, Rohnert Park

Canine Corps

Our Canine Corps dogs (and their humans) graduate from our training program and are matched with a senior near them. Regular visits offer warmth and companionship to an animal lover who may no longer be able to care for one at home.

Holiday Outreach and Food Delivery

Through JFCS, caring volunteers assemble holiday bags full of food and treats and deliver them to seniors who are celebrating the Jewish holiday. Learn more >

Safe At Home Calls

For seniors who live alone and seek reassurance or companionship, our Safe At Home volunteers can call daily to check in and make sure that all is well.
