Multipurpose Senior Services Program (MSSP) is a state-wide, voluntary care management program for adults aged 65 or older that enables frail seniors who otherwise would have difficulty living independently to remain in their own homes. In Marin County, MSSP is locally administered by Seniors At Home (as part of Jewish Family and Children’s Services).
How does MSSP work?
Funded through a grant from the California Department of Aging, MSSP enables frail seniors to live comfortably and safely in their own homes. Care is organized by a care manager who will create an individualized care program and monitor care on a regular basis.
Who is eligible for MSSP?
Residents of Marin County, 65 years of age or older, who are eligible for nursing home care under Medi-Cal are eligible for services under MSSP.
Who pays for MSSP services?
Once you qualify for MSSP, there is no charge for the assistance you receive through the program. To qualify, you must be eligible for or currently receiving Medi-Cal benefits under a qualifying aid code. No individual donations will be requested from you to receive services through MSSP.

Anyone, including the individual who needs assistance, family members, social workers or other health professionals, can make a referral to MSSP.
