Seniors At Home recognizes the need for a safe and reliable transportation service for seniors. That’s why we partner with popular ride sharing service Lyft to provide safe rides for seniors and their caregivers anytime they need it.
Most Lyft users arrange rides using the Lyft app on a personal smartphone—but according to Pew Research more than half of U.S. older adults do not own this type of digital device. Through our partnership, Seniors At Home arranges Lyft rides for seniors without smartphone or for those who simply prefer ordering their car by phone call. This service is available for home care clients and can be scheduled ahead of time or arranged on an as-needed basis.
The partnership is also designed to benefit Seniors At Home caregivers: Lyft rides will be provided for caregivers who are unable to drive to a client’s home—particularly if they are needed urgently or on short notice.
Seniors At Home and Lyft are dedicated to the safety of everyone in our community, including providing safe rides for seniors. In order to make sure Lyft rides are safe and reliable, drivers are hand-selected and screened through comprehensive background checks and in-person interviews.
