Join us for a presentation The Empowered Caregiver: Responding to Dementia-Related Behaviors by the Alzheimer’s Association in partnership with Seniors At Home.
People living with dementia may use behaviors as a way to communicate their needs and feelings as the disease progresses. Learn how dementia can change a person’s behavior, possible triggers and person-centered care approaches to address behaviors.
Topics include:
- How dementia affects behavior
- Identifying and understanding possible triggers
- Non-medical and medical approaches to addressing behaviors
- Four steps for managing behaviors
Andrea Korsunsky, Director of Seniors At Home’s Center for Dementia Care, will serve as guest facilitator.

Andrea Korsunsky, Director, Center for Dementia Care
Andrea Korsunsky, BSW, is the Director of the Center for Dementia Care at Seniors At Home, a program that provides direct psychosocial intervention to those diagnosed with Dementia and their family care partners. She has over 20 years’ experience in her field, including directly supporting people with dementia in her role as a social worker, and providing training for other professionals on best practices. She believes in care plans that are rooted in meaningful connection and autonomy for the individual, and she focuses on quality of life.
