Join us at Ruth’s Table for This Is Your Song, a joyful, low-pressure exploration of voice, rhythm, and creative play with Ryan Wilcox. Inspired by Bobby McFerrin’s circle singing, we’ll use only our voices, bodies, and imaginations to co-create spontaneous music together. No musical experience needed!
Caring for a loved one with memory loss doesn’t have to be a lonely job. Memory Cafe is a gathering for people experiencing mild to moderate memory loss and their caregivers (spouses, family members, or friends). Enjoy time with your loved one and meet others who are dealing with similar issues in a supportive and welcoming environment.
About this event: Ryan Wilcox teaches an inclusive bi-monthly community music-based program for Ruth’s Table called Sound in the Round. He is excited to be leading circle song groups! He plays saxophone, guitar and sings, and has performed solo and with various ensembles, including Voices (with David Worm), the Cal Band and a number of local rock outfits. He minored in music at UC Berkeley and has taught music appreciation classes for diverse community groups. Ryan has worked in the nonprofit sector, and especially in the senior care industry, for over a decade.
San Francisco Memory Cafe meets on many Tuesdays at different locations. Participants must be accompanied by their caregiver.
