Memory Cafe in San Francisco — 6/10/2025
Tuesday, June 10 @ 1:00pm – 3:00pm
Free
Join us at Ruth’s Table Curious Minds program to explore music, movement, and connection in a fun and supportive environment led by Renée Benmeleh of Sound Nourishment. Using easy-to-operate hand percussion instruments, toning, singing, and gentle movement exercises, this experience will encourage relaxation, emotional expression, and physical engagement.
Caring for a loved one with memory loss doesn’t have to be a lonely job. Memory Cafe is a gathering for people experiencing mild to moderate memory loss and their caregivers (spouses, family members, or friends). Enjoy time with your loved one and meet others who are dealing with similar issues in a supportive and welcoming environment.
About this event: Renée Benmeleh is a vocalist, composer, musician, ritual singer, and community music/arts in health facilitator. She is the founder of Sound Nourishment, where she leads group workshops using mindful vocal/movement and improvised melody/rhythm games in an inclusive environment supporting vocal and rhythmic exploration and the expression of your authentic sound. Renée is also a certified Music Together teacher who has been joyfully leading adults, children, teams, and families in facilitated musical experiences since 2001.
San Francisco Memory Cafe meets on many Tuesdays at different locations.
Participants must be accompanied by their caregiver.
Please RSVP in advance to Amy Takemoto by emailing her at: MemoryCafe@jfcs.org.
