Memory Cafe in San Francisco — 5/27/2025

Tuesday, May 27 @ 12:45pm3:00pm

Free

Join us at Ruth’s Table Curious Minds program to take a field trip to see the Ruth Asawa Retrospective Exhibition at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA).

Caring for a loved one with memory loss doesn’t have to be a lonely job. Memory Cafe is a gathering for people experiencing mild to moderate memory loss and their caregivers (spouses, family members, or friends). Enjoy time with your loved one and meet others who are dealing with similar issues in a supportive and welcoming environment.

About this outing: We will meet at Ruth’s Table at 12:45pm. We’ll travel together to the SFMOMA. Admission to the museum and round-trip transportation to and from Ruth’s Table is included with this event. In addition, light snacks and water will be provided. Just bring your curiosity and wear comfortable shoes! We will view the Ruth Asawa Retrospective with our very own museum docent, Suzanne Reich, to guide us. This show explores the incredible depth of Asawa’s artistry—from her iconic wire sculptures to her community-centered practice and lifelong commitment to arts education.

San Francisco Memory Cafe meets on many Tuesdays at different locations. Participants must be accompanied by their caregiver.

RSVP required by Thursday, May 15 by emailing Amy Takemoto at MemoryCafe@jfcs.org.
