Memory Cafe in San Francisco — 3/11/2025
Tuesday, March 11 @ 1:00pm – 3:00pm
Free
Join us at Ruth’s Table Curious Minds program for Spirit Boat Making with instructor Jennifer Ewing. You will make a Spirit Boat – a symbol of moving on and transformation – to help carry hope to you.
Caring for a loved one with memory loss doesn’t have to be a lonely job. Memory Cafe is a gathering for people experiencing mild to moderate memory loss and their caregivers (spouses, family members, or friends). Enjoy time with your loved one and meet others who are dealing with similar issues in a supportive and welcoming environment.
About this event: Jennifer Ewing is an art teacher, illustrator, muralist, entrepreneur, and facilitator leading programs for close observation and art appreciation. This workshop is about making a Spirit Boat to carry hope to you. A Spirit Boat is a symbol of moving on and transformation to a higher place where you feel supported and encouraged. We will talk and learn more about how boats help us in many ways to see and imagine where we want to go. This is a personal and memorable experience that continues to resonate after the workshop is over.
San Francisco Memory Cafe meets on many Tuesdays at different locations. Participants must be accompanied by their caregiver.
Please RSVP in advance to Amy Takemoto by emailing her at: MemoryCafe@jfcs.org.
