Memory Cafe in San Francisco — 9/24/2024

Tuesday, September 24, 2024 @ 1:00pm3:00pm

Free

Join us at Ruth’s Table Curious Minds program to explore the exhibition Acts of Care and do some art-making.

Caring for a loved one with memory loss doesn’t have to be a lonely job. Memory Cafe is a gathering for people experiencing mild to moderate memory loss and their caregivers (spouses, family members, or friends). Enjoy time with your loved one and meet others who are dealing with similar issues in a supportive and welcoming environment.

About this outing: The Acts of Care exhibition is curated by the Bay Area artist group Counter Collective, and it asks the question “who or what heals or nurtures you?” It showcases Bay Area photographers and mixed media artists who have captured moments of healing and nourishment. We will examine the artwork and then use mixed media to depict what brings us healing, nourishment and joy.

San Francisco Memory Cafe meets on many Tuesdays at different locations. Participants must be accompanied by their caregiver.

Please RSVP in advance to Amy Takemoto by emailing her at: MemoryCafe@jfcs.org.
