Caring for a loved one with memory loss doesn’t have to be a lonely job. Memory Cafe is a gathering for people experiencing mild to moderate memory loss and their caregivers (spouses, family members, or friends). Enjoy time with your loved one and meet others who are dealing with similar issues in a supportive and welcoming environment.
About this outing: Aaron Colverson will lead a music-making session in which he’ll share some of his research and play recorded and live music while participants sing and clap along to familiar tunes from the past. Aaron has a PhD in Ethnomusicology from the University of Florida, with partnering research in Neuropsychology. He works at the Memory and Aging Center of the University of California, San Francisco. Aaron is also a Research Associate with the University of Florida’s Center for Arts in Medicine.
San Francisco Memory Cafe meets on many Tuesdays at different locations. Participants must be accompanied by their caregiver.
