Join us on a docent-led tour of the Military Intelligence Service (MIS) Historic Learning Center Museum, part of The Presidio and the original site of the clandestine language school for the MIS during World War II.
Caring for a loved one with memory loss doesn’t have to be a lonely job. Memory Cafe is a gathering for people experiencing mild to moderate memory loss and their caregivers (spouses, family members, or friends). Enjoy time with your loved one and meet others who are dealing with similar issues in a supportive and welcoming environment.
About this outing: Join us on a a docent-led tour of the Military Intelligence Service (MIS) Historic Learning Center Museum, the original site of the clandestine language school for the MIS during World War II and home of the Fourth Army Intelligence School (Forerunner of the Defense Language Institute and Foreign Language Center in the Presidio of Monterey.) We’ll learn about how Japanese American soldiers secretly trained in Japanese military language one month before America’s entry into World War II. They saved countless lives, shortened the war and proved their loyalty to the United States. The Military Intelligence Service Historic Learning Center Museum is one of the sites of the National Japanese American Historical Society, a non profit dedicated to the preservation and sharing of the Japanese American experience.
Memory Cafe meets in San Francisco at different locations. Participants must be accompanied by their caregiver.

This center is located at 640 Mason Street in Chrissy Field, Building 640, which is in The Presidio. It is not on Mason Street in downtown San Francisco.
