SUMMARY:Memory Cafe in San Francisco—7/14/2026
DESCRIPTION:Open Exposures will provide us an opportunity to reflect on and celebrate the creative experiences we shared together throughout the workshop series. We’ll connect with participants\, caregivers\, and community members and revisit the photographs\, stories\, portraits\, and cyanotypes created during previous sessions\, highlighting the unique perspectives and contributions of each participant. \nCaring for a loved one with memory loss doesn’t have to be a lonely job. Memory Cafe is a gathering for people experiencing mild to moderate memory loss and their caregivers (spouses\, family members\, or friends). Enjoy time with your loved one and meet others who are dealing with similar issues in a supportive and welcoming environment. \nSan Francisco Memory Cafe meets on many Tuesdays at different locations. Participants must be accompanied by their caregiver. \nPlease RSVP in advance to Amy Takemoto by emailing her at: MemoryCafe@jfcs.org. Include the date of the event\, participant and caregiver’s name and which Memory Café event you are responding to in the email. \nAbout this outing: Works will be presented not as finished products\, but as traces of connection\, curiosity\, creativity\, and shared experience. Open Exposures\, founded and grounded by Louis Bryant III and Katie Gritilian\, offers a series of workshops that examine how people of color in the diaspora experience the complex relationships between travel\, colonization\, and photography. Open Exposures was conceived in close collaboration with Katie Giritlian and other fellow worker-owners of Converge Collaborative.
