DESCRIPTION:Join us as we explore Birgit Jensena’s exhibit\, Thousand Echoes in My Mind and Driss Ouadahi’s exhibit\, Reminiscence at the Hosfelt Gallery. \nCaring for a loved one with memory loss doesn’t have to be a lonely job. Memory Cafe is a gathering for people experiencing mild to moderate memory loss and their caregivers (spouses\, family members\, or friends). Enjoy time with your loved one and meet others who are dealing with similar issues in a supportive and welcoming environment. \nSan Francisco Memory Cafe meets on many Tuesdays at different locations. Participants must be accompanied by their caregiver. \nAbout this outing: The German painter Birgit Jensen explores the relationship between truth and artifice — and the role mediation plays in it — through the unlikely medium of landscape painting. Her process begins with photographs\, which she digitally edits\, then manipulates into layers of geometric marks or patterns. From them\, she painstakingly constructs multi-layered paintings on canvas. Up close\, the imagery breaks into pixelated noise. From a distance\, they appear nearly photographic. The Algerian artist Driss Ouadahi was influenced by his experience as an émigré.
