SUMMARY:Memory Cafe in San Francisco
DESCRIPTION:Join us on a docent-led tour “Hidden Meanings in Art” with Ethel and Randee. \nCaring for a loved one with memory loss doesn’t have to be a lonely job. Memory Cafe is a gathering for people experiencing mild to moderate memory loss and their caregivers (spouses\, family members\, or friends). Enjoy time with your loved one and meet others who are dealing with similar issues in a supportive and welcoming environment. \nAbout this tour: To explain an idea without saying it outright\, artists sometimes use symbolism. When you look at a still life of a basket of fruit\, it may be communicating more than fruit. For instance\, a pomegranate can symbolize prosperity and fertility. Also\, some artists fool our eyes by painting objects that look real\, but are not. Let’s have fun decoding paintings and finding the hidden meanings! \nMemory Cafe meets on many Tuesdays in San Francisco at different locations. Participants must be accompanied by their caregiver. \nPlease RSVP in advance to Amy Takemoto by emailing her at: MemoryCafe@jfcs.org.
